Emily and I took a trip to Charleston to enjoy some sun, good friends, and great food. I really needed to get away and have a break from the stress of preparing for our up and coming move. It was perfect. We had a lot of fun just hanging out. We of course stayed with Betsy, she is always such a gracious host and makes us feel at home.

Betsy has a yellow Lab which Emily just feel in love with. It took a couple of days but she warmed up to all the kisses and followed the dog around wanting to pet her. I am not really a fan of dogs but I have a feeling we will end up owning one sometime in our lives.

While hanging out with Betsy, Emily got to play with her nieces and we got to see all of her family which is always a treat for us. They invited us to come out to their house on Seabrook Island. We took Emily to the beach so she could see the water and boy o boy she is going to love the ocean in Hawaii. It wasn't the warmest day and all she wanted to do was touch the water. We are very blessed to have a child that LOVES water as much as her parents. We also took a nature walk and saw some amazing scenery on the island.

Grandma and Grandpa Wonders came down to Charleston for a few days for the 4th Anniversary of Garrett's accident. It is hard to believe that he has been gone for that long. We went out to the accident site and spent sometime there cleaning up the site and renewing the wreath. On a very chilly Sunday morning we took a walk up Wonders Way with John and Jana. Emily didn't care to much for the cold but the view from the top of the bridge is the best of Charleston. It was nice that Emily and I got to spend this time with Grandma and Grandpa Wonders on this occasion.
I really got to spend a lot of time visiting friends during out time in Charleston. My friend Saskia was in town on spring break from law school so we hung out in downtown Charleston. We took a walk down the battery and ended up at water front park. Emily really enjoyed running up and down the pier. It was funny she was calling the seagulls like she does the cat. I also got to have lunch with Stephanie (I was her
grad assistant at
ECDC ) and her son Madox. We also got to visit with Callie whom I use to teach with at Daniel Island and her two children at the park on Daniel Island. It is just so nice to be able to go to the park and enjoy the warm weather in March!! Jackie (another teacher friend) and her daughter Sadie met up with us several times for play time. Jackie fixed us a wonderful dinner one night while the girls played and played. I really enjoyed seeing many more friends during our travels and it will be sad not to see them for a few years while we live on the island.
