Tikki Faces

Emily making acting scared of the Tikki faces.

Not so Paradise

Sorry for the delay in posting lately. I have had some computer problems and we have been super busy. Unfortunately, after only three days in Hawaii Grandpa Wonders ended up in the hospital with Guillain Barre Syndrome . He is currently in a rehab hospital making remarkable progress. His date of release should be this Tuesday and a return to Ohio is questionable. Nothing like coming to paradise and spending three weeks in the hospital. During his stay in the hospital we visited when we could and Emily made him some of her artwork to help cheer him up. Emily really enjoyed Grandpa Wonders wheelchair and the rock garden at the rehab hospital.

There are some pictures of a tikki bar we ate at for one of my parents last meals here. Emily loved the tikki faces. She would walk up to one and act like she got scared from it....hilarious. We also made a few more trips to the beach. Grandma Wonders and my parents visited the USS Arizona Memorial, the International Market Place in Waikiki, breakfast at Dukes (a famous restaurant on the beach in Waikiki). There are also some new pictures of our view from our bedroom since they finished the construction in front of our house.

Grandma & Grandpa Wonders Visit!

This week Grandma and Grandpa Wonders came to visit us and to see the island. They are getting their Emily and Levi fix, which the kids are just loving. We took them to the beach where they both snorkeled for the first time and loved it. I have a feeling we will be doing more snorkeling while they are here. We also went to a Macadamia Nut farm. Emily really enjoyed trying to open the nuts by hitting it with a big rock. She then would throw them to the roosters to eat while saying "doodle doodle do". Grandpa Wonders also brought along his guitar. Emily loves to watch him play and even try it out for herself. Emily is now really into holding her baby brother (with a little help of course) every chance she gets. Levi is now 5 weeks old and is growing like a weed. He gained almost 1 pound in a week.

Emily's First Day of Preschool!

Emily's first day of preschool was today! She is just going two times a week for a couple of hours. It gives her some socialization and me a break! She had a good time learning about the color green.

Levi 4 weeks

Levi is now 4 weeks and is growing fast. We had him at the doctor and he was already 8lbs with his clothes on. He is still sleeping well at night and during the day for the most part. He was diagnosed with reflux this week and is now taking medication...it is not as bad as Emily was but he is now such a happier baby.

This weeks pictures are of a drive we did up a mountain to an amazing overlook which you can see a view of much of the island, we also went to a beach in downtown Honolulu which was perfect for Emily with calm water and lots of shells for her to collect. Since the playground in our neighborhood is a week or so from being finished we took Emily to a playground up the road, she still goes for the biggest slide first.

Jumping!

Emily is enjoying being able to get two feet off the ground...well sometimes.

Silly Emily!

We had a day of finger/foot painting and when Emily was finished I thought it would be easier to take her outside and spray her off with the hose....she was toooooo funny.
