Hawaiian Christmas!

This Christmas was a Christmas like Ben and I have never experience. Eighty degrees, sunny, windows open, tradewinds...perfect. Not to mention having two kids!!! It was a good Christmas that started with Emily tearing through package after package. Levi loved the paper almost as much as he loves peas.

Emily's big present was a wooden doll house with furniture and people included. It is about the same size as her. The cat seemed to think that it was his present...we had to put a stop to that. Grannybird got Emily a tool set so she can help her dad with repairs. Her first response was "dada tools" along with impatience while we tried to undo the packaging so she could play with them. She wore the tool belt all morning long and even took the drill and tried to "fix" the doll house furniture. It was toooooo cute!

We didn't do a big Christmas lunch or dinner. I decided to make a nice breakfast instead since Marianne was leaving that night and we would rather spend the time playing then fixing food and eating.

Emily received a water doll from Grandma and Papa which of course we had to try it out in the swimming pool.

Sleepy Boy!

I couldn't resist putting this picture on the blog. Levi fell asleep in the carrier when we went for a walk the other night. He just looks so peaceful.

Another Adventure!

Ben took Marianne on another adventure to try to spot some Humpback Whales. They weren't successful but the scenary was worth the trip! These pictures were taken on Makapu Point on the east side of the island.

Hanging Out!

We have been hanging out relaxing enjoying our time as a family. Levi is really changing fast. He is sitting up all by himself for a good amount of time. When he does he really has a look of being proud. He is also really rolling back and forth with ease and quickness. My time is limited...he his going to be crawling before I know it.

We received a package in the mail and Emily discovered how much fun a box can be!!! It is a boat...a place to hide...a train....a bed for her baby. Why do we spend money on toys????

Look at my boys!!!!!!!!! Full of smiles!!!

Emily and Grannybird eating Mochi (Japaneese Ice Cream)...em em good!!

Emily sporting a dress
that is from Ethiopia. A coworker of Ben's who was originally from Ethiopia sent it to her. It is absolutely beautiful.

A Day at the Beach!!!

We finally had a great beach day after all our rain and cloudy days so Grannybird and I took Emily and Levi to the beach. Emily enjoyed covering Grannybird's feet with sand! Levi enjoyed hanging out under the umbrella on a sheet (a first for him). He managed to get himself a few handfuls of sand. I think Grannybird enjoyed the beauty of the water and beach. I know she enjoyed the warmth and sun!!

Hawaiian Christmas Tree

t
This year we didn't want to buy a fake Christmas tree and we didn't think a real one would last due to the heat so.....we bought a Hawaiian Palm tree and made that our Christmas tree. When Christmas is over we will put it on our Lani. We thought it was pretty fun.

Our Emily!

Pretty typical Emily...what you don't see is her dress up shoes!

Whale Watching!

It is the beginning of the whale watching season here and Marianne and Ben happen to see one on a hike they did the other day. I'm sure you will be seeing more in the future.

Sea Life Park

Grannybird and I took Emily and Levi to the Sea Life Park (mini Sea World). It was pretty cool. They have a program where you can pay to swim with the dolphins or seals. We watched as tourist took rides on the dolphins. The best part of the day was the sea lion show. It was so much fun watching Emily laugh and get excited as the sea lions barked and did tricks.

Emily's Christmas Program!

Emily had her Christmas program at school the other day which really consisted of the kids in her class with bells around their wrist...some shaking them some not (Emily) while the teachers sang. It was cute! Afterwards they had a party in their classroom. Each child had a gift to exchange and Emily recieved a Mrs. Potato head. For some reason she has been wearing the glasses around the house. She even had to eat dinner with them on the other night, upside down.

Emily and her first teacher Mrs. Carrie!

I JUST LOVE THIS PICTURE!

I could just eat him up!!!

Aunt Judah, Gracie and Grannybird Come to Visit!

We have lived here for 7 months now and it hasn't rain a whole day but one day....then Aunt Judah comes to visit and we have 5 days of monsoons. It wasn't the sunny beach vacation I think she had in mind. We were just happy to meet our new niece Grace (7 weeks and a spitting image of her dad) and see Judah. Holding Grace reminded me just how small Levi was and just how big he is now.

Ben was awarded a service award from the Navy Sea League while Judah and Grannybird were here. It was very special for Ben to have them there when he received it. He even got dressed up in his Navy whites for the occasion. Who doesn't love a man in uniform!

Grannybird brought some books for Levi and Emily. We caught Emily under the Christmas tree reading with her Bookworm shirt on. To funny!!!

I think we wore Gracie and Levi out! What do you think?

The three cousins together!!! It's hard to take that picture.

What should we name the Cat???

This is an older video that I tried to upload before but had trouble. Emily thinks the cat should be named Baby but we ended up naming him Macco.

Levi's First Food

Levi had his first taste of rice cereal....he loved it!

Levi 4 months

This was a busy month between Emily's birthday, Ben's college friend Jake coming to visit and Thanksgiving. It was really good to see and hang out with Jake. Ben had the chance to escape with Jake and do a little hiking and snorkeling.

We had a relaxing Thanksgiving this year. We had our neighbors Jill, John and Andy over for a terrific dinner. Ben fried the turkey which turned out to be one of the best I have ever had and Ben didn't even start a fire.

Levi is getting sooooo big. He is rolling over both directions and is such a happy smiley baby. We really are enjoying him. Emily has been such a great big sister. Whenever Levi is crying she goes and gets him a toy..it is super cute. Emily is talking a bunch and really putting things together. I guess you can say she is growing up.
